Since the first article on Victorian Signature Books appeared last year, I have heard from several of our members who also have such books in their possession. While I have encouraged all of you to copy these and allow us to place their contents in our files, only one member, Ruby DeNise, has done so to date.

After my initial article, I was contacted by five different people to copy certain pages from my book, which contained passages written by their own grandmothers, great aunts and other family members. Ruby's book was a wonderful find for me, as four of the entries were connected to my Lorentz family lines. What a nice addition they made to my own records.

Following are the names which appear on the pages of Ruby's book, which originally belonged to Miss. Pearl M, Horton. Pearl was the daughter of Oliver and Linetta Parks Horton Shaw and grandaughter of Samuel Horton- the founder of Hortons Bay in Charlevoix County. Pearl's mother, Linetta Parks Horton Shaw, was Ruby’s grandmother by her second marriage.

Ruby M. Horton
Joseph Shaw
Linetta J. Shaw
Namie Call
Mirtie Call
Odessa Friend
Maudie Knapp
Cloe McCartney
Lovina Lorentz
Mrs. Teetes
