UPDATING OUR READERS

Do you remember the article "Seven Boys and Seven Girls Born in June," which appeared in our Spring Issue? If you recall, I had asked if anyone could tell me something about the little people mentioned in the article. In late May I received a response to this article from Mrs. Beverly Joseph of East Jordan. Let me share with you what she wrote:

"I have done a fast amount of research on the Scott family and am able to supply some information on Retta Mae Scott, born June 29, 1913. She was the daughter of James Scott and Mabel Richardson. James, her father, drowned in Pencil Lake, Otsego County, Michigan in 1916. Retha Mae died October 27, 1967 in Traverse City, Michigan. She had been a resident of Mancelona for several years and many of her children attended school tehre. Retha married first Edward Patton in 1931 and had fourteen children. She married second, Elmer Burke (no issue from this marriage). Hope that this helps. Have a good day!"
